Looking up song and album titles

If you have an Internet connection, iTunes can look up the CD name, song titles, and other information when you insert a CD. The information is retrieved from the CDDB database.

To update a CD's information:

Insert the CD, then choose Get CD Track Names from the Advanced menu. If you're not currently connected, you can wait until you are to retrieve the song titles. Just select an unnamed song in your library, then choose Get CD Track Names from the Advanced menu.

To perform a lookup automatically when you insert a CD, turn on the "Connect To Internet When Needed" option in the General tab of the iTunes preferences.

Sometimes two or more CDDB entries are found for your CD. This can occur when more than one person has submitted information for a CD. Select one of the entries. If it isn't correct, choose Get CD Track Names from the Advanced menu again and choose the other entry. If it's still not correct, you can edit the information yourself.
